Drew Davidson, BASc, MEng, PhD Candidate
Drew Davidson is the co-founder and CTO of ArcticEdge Technologies. Inspired by his mother, a retired Cambridge firefighter, Drew began working on safer alternatives to the PFAS-based materials used in protective gear. With a background in nanotechnology engineering and chemical engineering from the University of Waterloo, he leads ArcticEdge’s materials development, turning a deeply personal problem into a technical mission: better protection for firefighters and other frontline workers without relying on forever chemicals.

Kade Truman, BSc, MBET
Kade Truman is the co-founder and CEO of ArcticEdge Technologies, where he leads commercialization, partnerships, and go-to-market strategy. A two-time University of Waterloo graduate, Kade met co-founder Drew Davidson while completing his Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology on Waterloo’s campus. That connection brought together deep-tech commercialization and advanced materials research, forming the foundation for ArcticEdge’s mission to build PFAS-free breathable waterproof textiles for high-performance protective applications.

Estatira Amirieh, MEng
Estatira Amirieh is a Research Associate at ArcticEdge Technologies, supporting the development of PFAS-free advanced textile materials. With a Chemical Engineering background from the University of Waterloo and experience in sustainable materials, additive manufacturing, and polymer processing, she helps translate complex materials research into practical fabrics for protective and performance applications.

Dr. Milad Kamkar
Dr. Milad Kamkar is an Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo and Director of the Multi-scale Materials Design Centre. His research focuses on soft materials, polymer systems, rheology, nanomaterials, and sustainable advanced materials. At ArcticEdge, his expertise helps ground the company’s technology in world-class materials science and scalable material design.
